About Us

The Scheme of Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS) formerly known as Shramik Vidyapeeth was a unique creation of the Government of India is being implemented through NGOs in the country since 1967. The scheme was renamed as Jan Shikshan Sansthan in 2000. JSS scheme was transferred from the Ministry of Education (erstwhile Ministry of Human Resource Development) to the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship in July, 2018.
Jan Shikshan Sansthan Cuttack was established in 1985 as Shramik Vidyapeeth at PARADEEP. It Shifted to CUTTACK in 1991 to cover more beneficiaries. In 2000, Shramik Vidyapeeth was renamed as Jan Shikshan Sansthan and the area of operation expanded to Cuttack District. JSS, Cuttack rewarded NLMA UNESCO AWARD, 2010 for outstanding contribution in the field of Skill Development. In 2020 Resource Person of JSS, Cuttack Ms RatnamanjariRoulhas received KAUSHALACHARYA AWARD in Handicrafts Category. 

JSS Cuttack's annual coverage is 1800 beneficiaries.
